Happy Easter
We had a good Easter this year and took this photo of our new family of four where I'm not in a hospital gown. Bryson went on an Easter egg hunt at our apartment complex and then hunted for eggs and prizes at Grandma Jane's with some friends. Bryson and I also dyed eggs and Colin hung out, did some tummy time, and gave us a few smiles. Something special happened at Church, and I couldn't help but feel like we're doing something right. Bryson started crying during a Sacrament meeting talk about Jesus' love for us through the Atonement and Resurrection. When I leaned over to ask him what was wrong, he said, "I'm just happy. I know that Jesus loves me." That alone made Easter Sunday great, and we're so thankful Bryson can feel the Spirit and we have a Savior that loves us and died for us.

Special Delivery Video
Jarom just finished Colin's birth video. I love Bryson's reaction to finding out "his baby" is here. For those of you who are worried, the video is very tame because Jarom made sure to edit the footage. Enjoy the video of our special delivery.

One Month
Colin James, 4 Weeks Old
We can hardly believe Colin is a month old already. We love this little guy, and Bryson especially seems to have a good bond with him. Bryson loves being a big brother. Colin is over 8 1/2 pounds now and is 20 inches long. He is thriving, though he seems to have a little tummy trouble. He spits up after just about every meal which causes his sinuses to back up, leaving him a little congested. Poor guy! He's sleeping like a baby . . .which means he's up every three hours to eat, he's awake at night when we want to be asleep, and he wakes up when we put him down. But the loss of sleep is worth it to have this little guy in our family. Here are some pictures of our new addition that we've taken the last few weeks.

Brotherly Love
Bryson is an AWESOME big brother, and he is patiently waiting until Colin is old enough to play with (though that didn't stop him from giving Colin a Lego tower that Colin promptly laid his face on). Bryson loves to hold Colin's hands and lets him lay in his bed. Colin, actually seems to really enjoy being in Bryson's bed. Bryson gets Colin's "fire-pac" (he got the word "pacifier" mixed up, and it stuck), rubs Colin's tummy when it's upset, and watches him when I need to grab something. Bryson is doing a great job in the big brother role, and he's definitely feeling the love toward Colin.

Special Six
We celebrated Bryson's birthday this past week. For a week before his birthday, Bryson was writing down his birthday wishes: "a pinata, bloons [balloons], going to Gramus haoos [Grandma's house], spriess [suprises], videeos [videos], cprudr [computer], hats, and games and activudees [activities]." We tried to live up to dreams, but one friend, a couple of games, and dinner at Red Robin was about all we could manage. He had fun though, and loves his new remote controlled car.
6 Things That Make Bryson a Special Six-Year Old:
1. Bryson is
very kind and helpful. He is a friend to everyone, especially his dad
and little brother, and is always willing to help when needed.
2.
Bryson is very creative and artistic. He is always building with
blocks and Legos, drawing, and writing and comes up with some pretty fun
ideas and projects.
3. Bryson is not a huge eater, but we love
that he can't get enough cookies and treats. We make him wait until
after dinner, but we think it's funny how much he loves cookies.
4.
Bryson likes movies almost as much as his dad (which is a lot). He is
very motivated by movies. He finishes his entire homework
packet on Mondays so he can watch a video every night, as long as he is
behaving, and is very disappointed when he misses out on the opportunity
to watch one.
5. Bryson loves to
learn about anything and everything, from the Aurora Borealis to the
reason we say certain phrases. He is also becoming a great reader, and
loves to learn things from books.
6. Bryson has a great sense of humor and knows when we are just kidding around. He loves to laugh, and has a great one.
