J and his dad took B snowboarding for the first time on Friday. J desperately wants to get back on a snowboard himself, but he needs to wait a few more weeks after breaking his hip, scapula, and a couple of ribs in a snowboarding accident last month. So taking B and teaching him to snowboard this season is the next best thing. B had an absolute blast and J had to call it quits long before B wanted to leave. He said "doing zig zags" was his favorite thing, and J was impressed with how well B did his first time snowboarding. I obviously was sad to miss it, but Jarom took lots of video and pictures, so that was the next best thing. Jarom made the cute video below.
Jarom says: "The video tells it all. My little boy is so rad." He titled this video "What It Means To Be a Dad."
Good snowboarding Bryson. What a great family outing for you, Papa Randy, and your dad.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun! The snow is really deep!!
ReplyDeleteNeed to post to Youtube if you haven't.....great!
ReplyDeleteThat kid is talented... must be from mom.
ReplyDeletePaul's two cents -"Reminds of the time I taught you how to ski son."
ReplyDeleteHe did amazing. Was this recent and was Jarom snowboarding too?
ReplyDeleteJarom wasn't snowboarding, just walking and filming alongside of him. This was a couple weeks ago, but Jarom just finished the video. Bryson is ready to go again. I thought he did a fantastic job for his first time.
ReplyDeleteHe's amazing! I love the ending: "Dad quick! My hands are freezing!" So cute!
ReplyDeleteGreat job, Bryson!!!!
ReplyDeleteHe did a lot better than I did skiing
ReplyDeleteYeah, awesome. Hope my cousin's son will have as much fun snowboarding as your son has. We just have to wait a bit until he's a few years older.
ReplyDeleteMy son's ridiculously good attitude surprised me. He wanted to stay for more even after I was tired of chasing him down and done for the day. I think it really helped that he has watched countless ski and snowboard videos with me, and I have told him time and time again that: "Its fun to fall." Because he's seen so many videos of me (and others) falling down and eating it, he has started to understand that falling down just means you are learning and getting better. Every time he fell I tried to remind him that it looked awesome and we would make a cool video. But in the end, I think I just got lucky to have a little guy with such a great attitude and no fear of failure. Once I stopped giving him too much direction he seemed to pick it up and have a blast. Good luck. I wish I had started even earlier with my son.
ReplyDeleteDude... next Shaun White... don't screw this up.
ReplyDeleteThat was stinking adorable. My boys REALLY want you to take them next year. I propose you guys come here for Christmas and take all the boys.
ReplyDeleteToo cute. A chip off the ole block. I think I saw a legit tail grab too.
ReplyDeleteWow man that was awesome! Can't believe his jumps! He's going pro.
ReplyDeleteDude he did awesome! Now that’s parenting ;)
ReplyDeleteSurfing video. This weekend...
ReplyDeleteHahahahaha- I'm ready!
ReplyDeleteVery impressive. James said, "Alright, Ben. I want you on the surf board. Next week." It was 85 today. Gorgeous at the beach.
ReplyDeleteThat is so cool! Maybe in 10 years we'll see him in the Olympics! He's got a great teacher and you can tell he loved it!
ReplyDeleteYour mom was making fun of me because I had to watch this twice. Very awesome. Way to go, Bryson! Glad you had fun, just don't hurt yourself like Dad.
