Fishing with Grandpa Jim

When asked what he wanted to do while in Seattle, Bryson said he wanted to "go fishing with Grandpa Jim," so today we headed to the trout farm where Bryson and his cousin Zoey caught some fish.  The kids enjoyed feeding the baby trout and were very proud of their catch , but made it known that they would NOT be eating any of it.  It was a fun outing for all involved.

Visiting Grandpa Jim and Grandma Joy

The boys and I flew to Washington this week to visit my parents.  The flight went pretty well.  Colin slept most of the time and Bryson kept himself entertained.  I am so glad that we are able to visit and that my dad and brothers were able to meet Baby Colin for the first time.  This is our first visit in over a year and a half, so we are excited to be here, and we are even more excited to be spending time with my dad who was recently diagnosed with bone cancer.  Bryson has been having a blast playing with my sister Becca's daughters, riding bikes, eating Grandma Joy's food (except her chicken nuggets), and watching Spiderman and other shows with Grandpa Jim.   It's been a great visit so far, and we're looking forward to making some more great memories with  Grandma Joy and Grandpa Jim.  Here are a few photos from our first day in Seattle.

Peek-A-Boo

Colin definitely reacts very positively to Bryson.  He's always following Bryson with his eyes and loves to listen to Bryson read to him.  Bryson is also able to make Colin laugh a lot.  Here are my two cute boys playing Peek-A-Boo and Baby Colin laughing because of it.

Family Photo Session

We needed a photo of our family so that Bryson could give one to his teacher, so we took a few.  None of them turned out that great, but we did get a few fun ones.

Oktoberfest and 5K

Jarom had baby duty while Bryson and I had a date to run the Oktoberfest 5K yesterday.  Bryson did great and finished in just under 40 minutes, which was his best time yet!  We finished off the day enjoying all of the festivities of Oktoberfest - bouncy castles, bratwursts, and fireworks.  It was a fun day and even though we all have terrible colds, it felt good to get out there and run this morning and enjoy ourselves tonight at Oktoberfest.

6 Months and a Loose Tooth

Colin turned 6 months old and started solids, Bryson lost his first tooth, and we had our first snow.   Bryson complained of his tooth being loose one minute and the next minute, it was out.  All in all, it was a good day!

Last Day of Summer

We took the boys to the pool for Labor Day.  Bryson's been back in school for awhile now, but this will be his last day off during summer weather.  Colin had fun splashing in the zero entry pool and Bryson is now able to go on the water slide because he can swim to the side thanks to swim lessons!
