Grandpa Jim's Team

The boys just wanted to say that they love Grandpa Jim and pray for him every night.  Ever since my dad got sick, Bryson's been talking about how he's on "Grandpa Jim's team" and then I found this "Grandpa's Team Captain" shirt for Colin which seemed very fitting.  We just want my dad to know we're pulling for him and hope he beats this!

Baby's First Haircut

As you can tell from these first couple of photos, Colin's hair was getting a little shaggy and out of control.  Jarom was especially tired of the sides hanging down and besides the fact that Colin's super-fine newborn hair kept getting into his eyes, it was falling out all over the place.  So Jarom buzzed the sides and trimmed up the front.  He cut Colin's bangs a little too bluntly for me (Jarom even admitted he looked like Jim Carey in Dumb and Dumber), so I took him to the barber for a bang trim.  I was sad to see my baby's hair go, but Colin is cute either way, and his hair will grow back eventually.  Colin is one happy little boy, and we love him dearly!

10 Years

Jarom and I celebrated our tenth anniversary at Tucanos.  We love that place and can't believe it's been ten years.

Back to School

Here's our proud first grader!  Bryson is such a great kid and he loves school.  He was up late on Monday night because he was so excited for school he couldn't sleep.  Bryson had a wonderful day yesterday and loves his teacher and his friends.

5 Months and a Mama's Boy

Colin, 5 Months Old!

We can hardly believe our crazy-haired Colin is five months old.  Colin is a very happy little guy.  He doesn't mind being carted around everywhere we go and is a very even-tempered baby though he tells us when he is getting hungry or tired.  Colin is a drool monster and still spits up after every meal.  We've been doing more bottles than nursing because of all the difficulties we've had with it because of Colin's lip tie, his jaw-clamping, and other issues.  Colin is a Mama's Boy and smiles to get my attention and looks for my voice whenever he hears it.  He doesn't mind bottles, but he seems to miss out on the cuddle time with Mom because he's not nursing, so I try to squeeze that into our busy schedule.  Nursing or not, he's definitely getting enough to eat.  Colin weighs almost 15 pounds and is 25 inches long, putting him in the 15th percentile for growth.  Colin is a roller.  He plays on the floor for most of the day rolling from his back to his tummy, and the only way he'll sleep is if we put him on his side.  Colin is laughing and jabbering more and more every day and is so fun to have around!

Laughing Baby

Here's a video of Colin laughing. He's got a great little laugh and a wonderful little smile! At least someone around here thinks I'm funny . . .
