We won fourth place in our apartment complex's holiday decorating
contest. I don't know if they came looked at our doors and all our windows to get the
full effect, but we had fun decking out our apartment for Christmas (either that, or three people REALLY went all out, even more so than we did).
Fourth place is hardly worth bragging about, but it's still $25 off next
month's rent, and we enjoyed coming up with the concepts of our windows
and decorating our tree. In fact, Bryson's new favorite pastime is
making paper ornaments in random shapes that he hangs on our tree.

The First Thanksgiving
This year we hosted our first Thanksgiving at our house. We've always enjoyed Thanksgiving with one relative or friend or another since we were married. But this Thanksgiving, we invited Jarom's sister, Allie, and her family over. It was a little crazy at times because of our apartment's small kitchen, but we had delicious dinner and enjoyed one another's company. We watched movies (including The Christmas Story) and took the kids to the park before enjoying pies and other desserts. It was a turkey day to be remembered.
A few days earlier, Bryson had a Thanksgiving party in his ECE class.
He was one of the kids who dressed as a Native American while other
class members were Pilgrim boys or girls. Jarom and I helped with the
class party and were there to sit down with the little Pilgrims and
Indians for their Thanksgiving feast. We also worked on Thanksgiving preschool activities at home for the letter "L" (for leaves and love) this week.
