Ho Ho Ho and Merry Christmas

The boys were delighted with a visit from Santa and the presents they got from Mom and Dad and grandmas and grandpas.  Merry Christmas from the Guthries!

Snow Day

We had several inches of snow yesterday so Bryson didn't have school (though because it mostly melted by noon, they probably could have gotten by with a late start). After the roads were cleared, we spent the day at the pool and had hot soup and cocoa for dinner. We really enjoyed our snow day!

Happy Halloween from the Guardians of the Galaxy

Happy Halloween from the Guardians of the Galaxy.  

For Halloween, we dressed up as the characters from the Guardians of the Galaxy this year.  I was Gamora, Colin was "Rocket Racoon" and Bryson went as Starlord/Peter Quill.  Jarom worked during all our parties and trick or treating, but he would have been Groot the tree man.  Earlier this month, I took the boys to the pumpkin farm to take photos in their costumes and the boys also dressed up for two Trunk-or-Treats in addition to Halloween.  They got TONS of candy and Colin even learned to say "treat, please."  Colin wanted to stop after each house and eat what had been put in his basket, so I put him in the hiking backpack and handed him a lollipop he sucked on the remainder of the time.  The boys really enjoyed the trick or treating experience, especially little Colin who now says "treat" anytime he wants one.  

 

 

St. Mary's Glacier

We hiked to the base of St. Mary's Glacier this weekend. We hiked it a few years ago, but this was the first time we did it as a family of four.  It was a gorgeous and easy hike that we all enjoyed.

 

 

 Bryson cried when wading into the water because the glacier run-off was so cold.

 

 

This baby was a happy little hiker before and after our trip to St. Mary's.

Family Hike

We went to Echo Lake this weekend and hiked on the Chicago Lake Trail to the first creek.  The boys were great hikers!
